DESCRIPTION

A large softly pubescentm, climbing or trailing herb with 5-angled hispid stem and bifid, long tendrils. Leaves simple, broadly ovate-orbicular, 10-40 cm across, cordate, 3-5 lobed or angular, dentate, oftly pubescent on both surfaces.

DISTRIBUTION

This species is native to Asia or Africa, introduced to the new world, cultivated in warmer regions of the world. Within India, it is found throughout, either wild or cultivated.

CULTIVATION

It can be cultivated in ll kinds of soil, but thrives best in heavily manured loams.
